A highly regarded intellectual property team is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate for its Minneapolis office with experience in mechanical or medical device technologies. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in mechanical or biomedical engineering or physics, and a passion for helping clients protect breakthrough innovations in medical and mechanical fields.
Key Responsibilities:

Draft and prosecute patent applications for mechanical and electrical inventions, particularly medical devices

Conduct prior art analysis and support inter partes review (IPR) work

Work directly with inventors, in-house counsel, and IP professionals

Assist in portfolio strategy and client counseling
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics

1–3 years of patent prosecution experience

Experience with medical device or mechanical/electrical technologies

USPTO registration and active state bar membership

Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills
Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: $225,000–$260,000, based on experience and flex-time schedule
