A leading defense firm is looking for a driven mid- to senior-level Associate Attorney to join its busy insurance coverage practice in Chicago. If you enjoy owning your cases, working closely with partners, and handling sophisticated first-party property coverage matters, this role offers real responsibility and growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Take the lead on insurance coverage cases from day one through trial
- Work one-on-one with a supervising partner while managing your own docket
- Draft and argue substantive motions in state and federal court
- Handle written discovery, depositions and examinations under oath
- Advise claims professionals and in-house counsel and prepare clear, practical coverage opinions
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 3 years of insurance coverage litigation experience (first-party property preferred)
- Licensed in Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (or applicable federal court)
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills with confidence managing client relationships
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of files
