Environmental Associate

Salary: $200,000 – $260,000
A law firm in Denver is seeking an Environmental Associate with 4–6 years of experience in environmental and natural resources law, including related litigation. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex regulatory and litigation matters involving federal and state environmental laws.
Responsibilities:

Advise clients on environmental regulatory compliance and permitting matters

Support litigation involving environmental and natural resources issues

Conduct legal research and draft briefs, memoranda, and regulatory filings

Assist with matters related to air quality, natural resource development, and federal and state administrative law

Work collaboratively with attorneys and clients on complex, multi-faceted matters
Qualifications:

4–6 years of experience in environmental, natural resources, or related administrative law

Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, and analytical skills

Experience with air quality, natural resource development, and/or federal or state administrative law required

Experience with water quality, water law, energy project permitting, and/or solid and hazardous waste law strongly preferred

Prior experience as a judicial clerk or with a national law firm, federal or state environmental agency, Department of Justice, or state attorney general’s office preferred

Highly self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities

Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

Flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally
Bar Admission:

Must be admitted or eligible for admission to the Colorado Bar

Admission to other western state bars is a plus
